In 2009, SLR formed a dedicated asset-based lending team focused on active coverage of the financial services industry to take advantage of funding dislocations resulting from the 2008 credit crisis. 

We lend on a secured basis against the loan portfolios of mid-sized commercial and specialty finance companies. 

SLR's deep experience lending to commercial finance companies has had an additional benefit of identifying attractive acquisition opportunities. The SLR platform has made 10 acquisitions.
